This past weekend, Paul Smith College partnered with the Cornell University Cooperative Extension School to host the first ever Birch Sap and Syrup Conference. Organizers invited the public to taste test several categories of birch products. And, well, Botanical Springs knocked it out of the park.

Our birch infused lemonade took first prize in the birch beverage category and our pure birch water took second.  Botanical Springs congratulates all our competitors and all the great friends we made this weekend, especially Michael Farrell of Cornell University, Brian McDonnell and the gracious hosts from Paul Smith’s College, the University of Vermont Proctor Maple Research Center, the University of Turku, the University of Alaska-One Tree Alaska,  Alaska Wild Harvest, Byarozavik Birch Water, Sample Alaska, Tapped from Finland, Semintha Nutraceuticals, Alexei founder of the Birch Sap Festival, and everyone else we forgot to mention.

Loved for centuries in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, birch water has finally arrived in America. We learned a great deal and had the opportunity to share our unique, birch products with knowledgeable colleagues and the general public alike.  Botanical Springs looks forward to attending this great event next year.
